A little bit about me…
Hi, I’m Kirsty – Owner, Head of Communications, Marketing Manager, Logistics Director, Pricing Strategist & Unqualified Therapist of Krafty Ceramics – usually found holding a paintbrush in one hand and a strong coffee in the other!
By day, I work for the NHS within the Frome District Nursing team, so caring for people, keeping things calm, and adapting to ‘whatever the day throws at you’ is very much my comfort zone.
But, on select weekdays, evenings and weekends, I swap needles and bandages for paintbrushes and palettes.
Krafty Ceramics launched in May 2024, initially just as an idea for an activity option for care homes to book for something a little different.
Since then, it’s grown into something I’m ridiculously proud of – with the addition of lots of different session options to book and a growing customer base full of genuinely lovely humans, some of which I’m grateful to call friends.
I’m also a Mum to 7-year-old twin girls, who occasionally come along to care home sessions with me in the school holidays. They’re brilliant at chatting, cheering people on, and reminding everyone that art is meant to be fun — not perfect. They also take their role as “official morale boosters” very seriously.
Behind the scenes, my Husband is regularly roped in to help me shift boxes on delivery days and help set up large group events – a role he did not apply for, but performs heroically nonetheless!
What I Do…
I run fully mobile pottery painting sessions for:
- Care homes and supported living settings
- Children’s parties
- Community groups and public events
- Adult evenings and private gatherings
- Team building/Corporate days
- Hen do’s & Baby showers
I bring everything to you, including the ceramic items, paints, brushes, palettes, tablecloths, aprons, design ideas and an abundance of encouragement!
Why choose Krafty Ceramics?
I know inviting someone into your space — especially with children or vulnerable adults — is about more than just the activity itself. I pride myself on being:
- Friendly, patient and approachable
- Calm and inclusive for all abilities
- Organised (but never boring!)
- Reliable, professional and fully prepared
Most sessions end with abstractly painted tablecloths, colourful creations, additional laughter lines and at least one person saying, “I didn’t think I’d be any good at this!” — which is always my favourite bit.
Ok, I’m invested, what’s next?
Whether you’re planning a party, organising an activity programme, or just fancy doing something a little different, I’d love to help create a session that works perfectly for you.
Take a look at my ‘Sessions’ page to browse the different options available to book and have a look at my ‘Ceramics’ page to choose your masterpiece-to-be.
